Intro to Costa Rica

Costa Rica is the number one ecotourism destination on this planet. CanTico Kayaks and Ecotours will introduce you to Costa Rica in a unique way. We go to places on the road less travelled, away from the crowds. Our tours are designed for both experienced adventure tourists, and first timers. With CanTico you will have a Costa Rica experience that is safe, adventurous and different from the typical tour.

CanTico was developed by a Canadian and her love for outdoor activities. Carole Beaupre, came up with the idea in November 2008 to create a company that would offer unique tours and adventures. The full operation commenced in 2009. Carole was able to develop trips that will give you a local flair and an eye for what our North American and Europeans clients would appreciate to see and experience. What to really expect in Costa Rica.

To the North American or European traveler, Costa Rica feels the least culturally different of all the Central American countries. Yet there are many differences that a visitor to the small towns, parks and backcountry will encounter.
Things happen a bit more slowly, tranquilly. Costa Ricans are generally very helpful and friendly. In most places in Costa Rica you can drink tap water and there are no problems with hygiene and the food from the small sodas.

Health precautions

Compared to other Latin American countries, Costa Rica is remarkably clean, and preventive health care and sanitation are generally good. Please check with your traveling health clinic before comming to Costa Rica.
