4 Days 4 National Parks in Costa Rica!

My friend Steve Short is here in Costa Rica enjoying the sun and heat of the country. Steve is a professionnal photograher. We decided to rent a car a few days ago and take on the road to 4 different National Parks. We were going hiking and kayaking. The first day took us at the volcano Rincon de la Vieja. We hikes as far as we could go until the wind at the summit forced us to rurn around. The rain there was falling horizontal and not vertical. It was still a great experience as we walked through 3 different jungle system. Tropical rain forest, cloud forest, and montain. It was great... The next day we went to Santa Rosa National Park where we did a little 1km hike and saw a dry tropical jungle and many many butterflies. We also had an amazing cultural tour of the hacienda where Costa Rica won the war against William Walker in 18 minutes. Then it was off to the Playa Naranjo and Witche's rock viewpoint. Amazing... Steve's pictures are unreal...
The next day we went to Rio Celeste, now if you want to see real jungle this is it... Beautiful lush jungle and good trail up to the falls. The falls and river is very special as it flow blue and not a blue that anybody has seen. Volcanic conditions has made the water a special blue... Last it was Cano Negro for some kayaking and birding. Floating on this river is always my favorite thing to do. The wildlife is abundant and the birds are always a joy to watch.
Great 4 days!!! need to do this again...
